Season Review

Season 24 is a reboot for Who which had been on hiatus due to the violent nature of the last few seasons. It introduces a new Doctor without a departure story for the old Doctor. There are new titles and theme tune as well, giving the series a comic book feel. Which you will like, or not... The music scores this season are also bombastic and in your face which I find to be very irritating.

The Collection Review

The Collection Box Set Releases: Season 24 is the ninth boxset to be released. It is the second Sylvester McCoy season as The Doctor to be released, with Season 26 being released earlier.

The boxset contains 8 disks. Four serials all with two disks each. The second disk for each serial is an expanded version of the story which is usually a better watch than the transmitted story.

The cover of the boxset has Sylvester McCoy in this first season costume and it looks good!

Inner Booklet Cover Holder: From Paradise Towers.

Booklet Cover: The Doctor, Mel and Ace with a Dragonfire backdrop.

Console Room: From Time and The Rani - the first to feature characters - in the this case Mel and the Sixth/Seventh Doctor on the floor after the attack from the Rani. The exercise bike is on show and Lakertya is on the viewscreen.

Blu-ray Disk Narration:  Sylvester McCoy.

The box design is only one of three seasons that uses the front cover as the spine cover. You can see on the spine some villains are in view. All of the other Collection box sets, except for Season 8 and Season 12, use a clean shot of The Doctor on the spine.
