Season Review
This season marks Doctor Who's 25th anniversary so we get Daleks and Cybermen to help us celebrate. The season is certainly a step up from Season 24 with a much less comic (slapstick) tone and more about the mystery that is the Doctor. Sophie Aldred integrates quickly as well as McCoy's new companion after (imho) a bit of a lacklustre start at the end of Season 24.
The Collection Review
This is the sixteenth box set to be released in the Collection range and it completes Sylvester McCoy's years as the Doctor. He is the first Doctor to have all his serials released in the Collection. It's also the completion of Sophie Aldred's serials as Ace as well.
This boxset, at the time of writing, now gives us a complete five year run of the Collection, starting with Season 22 through to Season 26.
The boxset contains 8 disks. Four serials all with two disks each. The second disk for each serial is an expanded version of the story which is usually a better watch than the transmitted story.
The cover of the boxset has Sylvester McCoy in his second season costume which appears more toneddown in look this season than his first season costume. The Doctor can be seen holding the bow from Silver Nemesis.
Inner Booklet Cover Holder: From The Happiness Patrol.
Booklet Cover: The Doctor and Ace from Silver Nemesis.
Console Room: A bit of a mess from The Greatest Show In The Galaxy...
Blu-ray Disk Narration: Sylvester McCoy
For the eagle eyed, the boxset promo artwork displaying the contents of the Season 25, mistakenly shows Season '8' on top of the boxset instead of '25'.
