Review
Terminus is a good story but sometimes a bit grim and downbeat. The story is also the last for Nyssa who departs at the end of the story, opting to stay on Terminus. The story meanders but remains interesting with the Black Guardian interwoven in a good way in to the story. Oh, and the Gaum is cute too!
The departure of Nyssa seems to be quite rushed. There is time in the story for this but it feels like it's shoehorned in at the last minute. Other parts of the story could have been shortened to make the departure feel less rushed. I think complications in the filming of the story brought this about which is a shame. Also in Nyssa's departure scene, Janet Fielding (Tegan) can barely speak due to what sounds like a throat infection. Nyssa's departure also falls flat as it's not the last scene of the serial. That honor goes to the Black Guardian again being Mr Evil with a capital E. It spoils the effect of Nyssa leaving and I wish this could have been better scripted...
