Image of The Fendahl

Season 15

Serial 3

No. Episodes: 4

Review

Although Graham Williams took over as producer for Season 15, stories from the Hinchcliffe era had already been commissioned, with Image of The Fendahl one of them the previous producer's gothic horror type story. It's an interesting story, but gets muddled at the end and the resolution seems to fall a bit flat. The ending seems a bit contrived with the Fendahl just wafting around aimlessly. The priory also gets destroyed (also a typical story staple) in a very undramatic way. The coda to the episode also is just a bit throwaway.

What started out as a possibly interesting story combining evil covens with science goes of the rails by time we get to the third episode. And the Fenadahline are again, a rubbish monter.

K-9 also gets sidelined immediately in the story. Probably 'Image' was originally scheduled before The Invisible Enemy, so the writers had to find a way to include K-9 when the story got bumped in production order.

The Time Rotar looks a bit damaged in this serial too. Bits seem to be falling off of it.
